Cannabis Healing Balm

Cannabis topicals can be extremely useful for challenges ranging from injury sprains all the way to post-operative situations or chronic rheumatism. The human epidermis is the largest organ is extremely porous, making it ideal for absorbing cannabinoids into the bloodstream and especially around a particular trouble spot (cancer, inflammation, infections, allergic reactions, ECT). The capability of this balm is so renowned that it is mentioned in Exodus 30: 22-23 under the name "holy anointing oil" making Christianity one of the newer religions to implicate the medicinal cannabis protocols that have been around much longer within the human timeline going back to tribal, shamanistic times.

There are 101 ways to make balm but starting out, there is no reason to make it more complicated than it should be. Simply put, you're infusing the plant's active compounds into the fatty molecules found in the vegetable oil. The vegetable oil is then applied to the skin and offers an absorbable medium for the compounds to work through the epidermis layers and into the bloodstream.

Generally speaking, balms and topicals made with cannabis are non-euphorant and poses very little risk to using while active or involved in high-risk activities. There are ways to create "active-balms" that do cross the blood brain barrier and this is done by heating the raw plant material as a pre-requisite step to infusing to the oil. This step is called decarboxilation and takes the THCa that is naturally occurring in most medicinal cannabis strains and "activates" the compounds turning THCa into THC and onwards to CBN as heat and time is applied (we'll add a footer to this post explaining this process). Generally speaking, topicals are very safe to use and can be one of the most effective combatants for neuropathy, rheumatism, lupus, fibromyalgia, dermatitis, psoriasis, skin cancers, allergies and exposure situations and activating the compounds makes the effectiveness of the final balm far greater.

Required Ingredients

Cannabis (2oz)

Coconut Oil (32oz) (Hempseed Oil is also a very useful carrier)

Bees Wax (1-3oz) (adds body, de-greases)

Vitamin E (2Tblspoons)(adds preservation)

Essential Oils (adds scent, penetration, healing)

Required Steps

  1. With a crock pot set to LOW, take your evenly ground cannabis and coconut oil and allow them to stew for 24 hours. This step can go for as little as 12 hours and can go as long as 48 if you want. It's not precise. The temperature should not peak over 220 degrees, use the "warm" setting if you're able to do the pre-requisite decarboxilation step with the plant material.

  2. Strain the plant mixture from the coconut oil after it has been allowed to cool slightly through a cheese cloth, squeezing the cloth at the end to ensure that all the oil has been pulled from the plant material.

  3. Melt down the bees wax (add shea butter or aloe vera now if using)

  4. Add coconut oil and wax/butter mixture together stirring consistently while maintaining a very low temperature, remove from heat once you see this mixture is consistent

  5. Add any essential oils, healing oils, scent oils, herb powders and continue stirring consistently until mixture is even and without lumps or bubbles

  6. Pour into a glass container and store in the fridge or freezer for ate least 24 hours to fully set up.
