CANNABIS & MINDFULNESS
Cannabis Community Intends to Intertwine Mindfulness Movement and Imbibing
Mindfulness is "the intentional, accepting and non-judgemental focus of one's attention on the emotions, thoughts and sensations occurring in the present moment", which can be trained by a large extent in meditational practices. The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published the results of a ground-breaking study that found that meditation appears to provide much relief from some anxiety and depression symptoms.
Canna Clatch, by definition is a social around Cannabis and more and more, people are waking up to the idea that Cannabis, when used consciously, can be a major boost to mindfulness and it's uncountable benefits. Research suggests that mindfulness training can foster compassion and altruism within Humans. The Cannabis plant is known for cultivating feelings of one-ness and empathy for oneself as well of that of Everything and the connection of Everything - in many spiritual traditions this is referred to as bliss.
Imbibing with Cannabis, whether by vapor, smoke or, edible ingestion or absorption through the skin, the plant will change the mind-state and offer new context for perceived reality. This shift in mind-state is particularly effective for Mindfulness Meditation and the practice of "observing oneself" while making shifts in mind-state - much like the shift from sleeping dream reality to waking reality. The continual practice of observation can lead to many discoveries and the embodiment of living in the present opens to the observer when attachment to future and past can be dissolved and integrated.
The Altruistic StrainHunters is a community of people who have realized the curative benefits of Cannabis and work to spread the information they themselves have benefitted from. This process of sharing is in itself healthy and is fundamental to facilitating community. Community is fundamental to Cannabis and while we watch many people try to commoditize the plant, they will never be as rich as the individuals who cultivate community in their every-day lives and spread the benefits they themselves have experienced. This selflessness vs self-aggrandizement is the fulcrum that our societal shift is going to tilt from.
With the help of Internationally-known meditation coach and martial arts master, Lama Somananda Tantrapa, Canna Clatch will be the first ever community to re-introduce the intentional use of Cannabis to deepen the meditation experience and to further cultivate mindfulness in a legal American State. Oregon, in 2015 became the 3rd state to legalize for adult use and cultivation, Cannabis.
Lama Tantrapa is widely known for his family's lineage art Qi Dao that came from Siberia and has connections to Bon Lamaism and Buddhism found in Tibet. His most popular meditation series works from the "Dream Yoga" work that is taught within Qi Dao and is termed "Yawntra Yoga" when taught on it's own as a mindfulness meditation. "Dream Yoga" by the use of yawning is exactly what the Altruistic StrainHunters would like to introduce to the World-Wide Cannabis Community. It's an excellent means to begin to our "observer role" that becomes one of our most valuable tools to self awareness and identity dissolution.
Lama Tantrapa is a Qigong Master, and a minority one at that. He is one of the very few that openly endorses the use of entheogens and psychedelics to deepen the human experience and directly accepts the shamanic roots his lineage art implicates. Lama Tantrapa has done a video interview with us about his perceptions of Cannabis and his experiences with it. He will be collaborating with us to bring his Dream Yoga class to a future Canna Clatch where we will record it for everyone's consumption worldwide.
Lama Tantrapa does his coaching in person and through Skype Conversation. If you would like more information on how to discover mindfulness and through age-old shamanic practices while being wholly accepted for your Cannabis use, or to join our next Canna Clatch, please email cannaclatch@gmail.com.
Stay turned for an upcoming Clatch that will include a mindfulness segment and we're here to tease right here, right now, anyone who's still reading, we're looking to introduce, with the collaboration of Lama Tantrapa, "Push Hands" or Tuishou to the greater Cannabis Community. A practice he only teaches at Qigong Congress and within the advanced levels of Qi Dao Lineage Art.
